Went to this club last night. So many people pushing and shoving, everyone was throwing stuff off the top floor onto the people on the dancefloor below and I got hit with a pint glass on the back of the head. Not only that, there was a fight on the dancefloor and I got a wayward punch in the face. Would never have this in Canada, everyone's far too friendly and polite.

Was the crappiest night. England sucks.

  2. i went out last night too and i have to agree than England can just be thouroughly dissapointing when it wants to be! Appart from the fact that if this had happened whilst i was in Australia (which it never would have because everyone is too laid back there!) i would have at least been warm, rather than trying to defrost my being by having to dance among a ridiculous amount of freshers. Why is England so cold!?!? rant over....

  3. i totally get what everyone is saying here. I used to go out all the time before i went to America, but whilst i was out there, i couldnt go to bars and clubs, because im not quite 21 yet. and to be honest, i didnt miss it.
i didnt miss the rowdy atmosphere, the pushy customers, the shouting drunks...
i did miss a social glass of wine, but you can get that anywhere. what you can't get here is moments where you think people are genuinely listening to you! i feel the need to shout!!!
Kingston, Rhode Island, is a DRY TOWN...I.E...NO ALCOHOL... i miss that.

    alcohol is evil.
    i've learnt that now.

  4. I totalllly get what you guys are on about! I went out while I was home, and what a dissapoitment. I stuck to the floor. Actually stuck. The english are so rude as well. I miss it in America where everyone just talked to you, asked you 'how your day was'. If I do that here everyone thinks there is something wrong with you.

    Take me back now please!

  5. ....and just to make it worse, 'New york' just came on the radio. Even the radio is against me.

  6. Wow a dry town! Can't imagine that happening anywhere in England with out binge drinking culture! But I know what you mean about people listening, in Canada we had a lot more nights just sitting in the pub - they're open to the early hours of the morning so we would spend the whole night there, just chatting and having a few drinks at our own pace, and actually LISTEN to the conversation. In England it's always knock back as many vodbulls as you can to ensure you're good and drunk before the pub kicks you out and you're forced into the horrible noisy, sweaty, cramped dungeons known as clubs.

But it's go out or sit in and mope about Canada so I go anyway. But I wouldn't be surprised if the sticky floors were intentional to keep people from leaving Jess!

  7. I miss chatting over pitchers of CANADIAN beer...how i hated the taste of my first can..then by the end it was a pitcher each..sitting in Father and Sons or la maison. The best place to be..breakfast, lunch, dinner and social place to be in the evening..take me back please.

  8. I completely agree Louise!! I went out for the first time in 7 months the other night, and I couldn't believe it. There were so many people packing into the club. I ended up having a bit of an emotional break down. It's nothing like that in America, ok people get drunk but they're aren't the crazy clubs unless you go into New York or something. I miss the friends I made so much, and like Cat I'm not interested in alchol and getting 'wasted' or whatever, the drinking age here should be pushed to 21!

  9. I've just read this post and am utterly shocked, I hope you complained to the owner of the club. This country is going down hill.
